This weekend the RMVC hosted it’s very first Scent Work trial and we came away with RAVE reviews! Both judges complimented us on having an abundance of workers and running a super efficient trial. First trials aren’t usually efficient, so we appreciate the nod! The very hard working committee was Jenny Fleischer (Chair,) Ginger Sammonds, Catherine & Byron Sayers, Neeta Cope, Carol Ann McConville, Alison Rodgers, and Dylan Fleischer. We also had planning help from Lindsay Tita Adams & Becky Clippenger who were both out of town, but still helped so much! Club members Katherine Hokens, Leah & Aaron Davis also came and pitched in on Saturday contributing to the many hands making light work! Besides our club members, we had many members of the community donate a day or two to help us keep things running. One volunteer, Ron Horn, even joked that he had to BEG to volunteer, something he has never experienced! Needless to say we extend many thanks to everyone who pitched in for helping us make it a great first event! We can’t skip thanking Dr. Milan Hess for renting us her gorgeous facility for the weekend too!
Our judges, Ginger Brayman (NM) and Maureen Baumtrog (CO) set fun searches and made great use of the space for a weekend trial! They were both so very flexible and worked with us leading up to the trial to layout search areas and make sure they liked our planning. We can’t thank them enough for the collaboration! We would highly endorse both of these judges to any club looking for a great judge!
We had much success at our trial and awarded 4 High in Trial awards!! That is something to be proud of, especially at the upper levels! Our congratulations to Cindy Cohagen & Arie, Amanda Glazar & Jax, Jenny Fleischer & Whiskey, and Trudi Shoening & River for truly shining with your consistency this weekend! What fantastic teamwork to go 4 for 4!
We also offered a special award for Vizslas in competition and created a scoring system where points were awarded for Qs at all levels and then extra points for placements. Our High Scoring Vizsla teams this weekend were Jenny Fleischer & Boujee on Saturday, and Catherine Sayers and Nelli on Sunday! Huge congratulations to these teams!
We had so much fun and can’t wait to do it all again next year!
